Rachel Marshall recently joined the LREC restoration team as our Fall 2022 intern and will be with us until mid-November. Rachel graduated from St. Olaf College in Minnesota, in May of 2020, having majored in biology and environmental science.
During Rachel’s ten weeks with us, she will be helping us collect seed for horticulture and woodland restoration projects, control prevalent fall exotic invasive plants such as beefsteak plant and assisting with fall plantings and maintenance in the native landscape beds of the Glasshouse. She is very excited to learn more about our native flora, to participate in the fall mist netting of migrant birds, and to investigate our soil and water health at the ecology center.
If you cross trails with Rachel during one of your visits, please make sure to give her a warm welcome. We are very happy she decided to join us!
