We welcome two wonderful restoration interns this summer:
Rachel Derner
I am an incoming senior at the University of Missouri–Columbia studying environmental sciences. Before coming to Litzsinger, I worked on the Forest Team at Washington University’s Tyson Research Center for two years. After graduation, I hope to peruse a career in restoration ecology. I’m very excited to be a part of the team at LREC this summer!
Morgan Hooker
I am a summer intern at the Litzsinger Road Ecology Center. I am an incoming senior at the University of Illinois Urbana–Champaign where I am studying environmental science and biology. Outside of classes, I am a research technician and the president of the Irish dance club, but in my free time I like to hike, paddle board, and craft. After graduating, I plan to pursue a career in restoration ecology and conservation biology. While at LREC, I am excited to gain more hands-on experience in land management and monitoring techniques and improve my plant ID skills.
