The Missouri Botanical Garden is offering a free educator workshop, Visualizing Biodiversity for a Better World, for teachers of grades 4–12 who are
- Seeking creative ways for students to visualize, deeply understand, and effectively communicate environmental science concepts
- Looking for new ways to connect with peers across disciplines, from science and technology to communications and arts
- Wanting to transform their campus and community into their very own learning lab, design studio, and stewardship site
This workshop is collaboration of Missouri Botanical Garden, Academy of Science St. Louis and the BiodiverseCity St. Louis network of organizations. Designed to bring together educators from the sciences, arts, technology, communications, and other realms, this workshop embraces data-driven, multi-disciplinary approaches to learning and meaning-making, with an eye on the living world and our role in it. It will be held July 24–26, 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. each day, at Missouri Botanical Garden’s Monsanto Center (4500 Shaw Blvd.)
This workshop is ideal for classroom teachers and informal educators who serve students from grades 4–12. Teams of multi-disciplinary teachers from the same school and/or institution are encouraged. Registration deadline is July 14.
