This eye-catching obedient plant (Physostegia virginiana) burst into bloom this week. This showy plant is in the mint family and blooms for about a month and a half long. Bumblebees and ruby-throated hummingbirds love to visit the tubular flowers. A female hummingbird was seen searching for nectar from the flowers yesterday morning.
Hint: They were planted last year, in April 2016, by our Friday Horticulture Volunteers!
